Reducing Humidity

A customer called Mechanical Extremes about the Carrier Infinity HVAC system they had installed in his house.  He had set his thermostat at 76.  The temperature in the house was now 74, but the system continued to operate in a mode called “dehumidifying.”  “Why?,” he asked.

Mechanical Extremes’ Harold Wilkes explained what was happening.  “By design, the Infinity system looks after your total comfort.  In this case, the air conditioner continued to operate, but the fan was operating at a much lower speed.  That gets rid of excess humidity.”

Everyone has heard the phrase, it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity.  Truth is both heat and humidity add to, or subtract from, comfort.  Getting the right balance is the key.

In this example, the reduced humidity at 74 degrees eliminated a clammy or damp sensation.  This customer had the perfect equipment to do it.  Carrier Infinity will eliminate up to 400% more moisture than other systems.  That explanation satisfied the customer’s curiosity and helped convince him that he had made the right decision by choosing Mechanical Extremes and the Carrier Infinity system.
